The House of Lords has today voted by 146 to 66 to approve the draft Sexual Offences (Northern Ireland) Order 2008, which is the Northern Ireland equivalent of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. When it comes into force, the Order will change the age of consent in Northern Ireland from 17 to 16.
